Capacity and performance of system increases linearly as additional storage modules are being added.
The main benefit of Resilient Cloud Storage data storage system is that, compared to other concurrent solutions, it does not have centralized controllers, which passes all the traffic through itself. Centralized controllers have limitations to data throughput and, as disk array amount increases, it becomes a "bottleneck" of the system. When the limit is reached, more controllers need to be purchased, to increase the performance (high-performance controllers always costs a lot) and connect disk arrays to it.
In our case, there are no centralized controllers, putting all the traffic through itself. Clients communicate with disk arrays directly. So, if the system performance or capacity needs to be increased, only some new disk modules have to be installed "horizontally".
This way, the system can be started with a minimal amount of modules, and smoothly grow, as the disk space and the performance requirements occur.
Resilient Cloud Storage system has the specs, that perfectly fit server infrastucture virtualization systems, such as OpenStack, VMware, KVM, Microsoft Hyper-V, Xen. Resilient Cloud Storage also fits application and desktop virtualization systems, such as Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop и VMware Horizon.
